1. Pay A Visit To Barrage Vauban
In France, Strasbourg lies a delightful historical site named The Barrage Vauban. This structure was constructed in the 17th century using pink sandstone. The structure serves as both a bridge and a weir, as well as a defensive work intended for the River Ill.
This building was ascribed to the plans of the famous military engineer Vauban. It operated defunct areas around the flooding of the city from any threat of invading forces.
However, directly below at the base of the structure now rises this impressive panoramic terrace exposing picturesque views of Strasbourg's own world-renowned Petite France district. Moreover, travelers are greeted with sculptures of historical proportions on display in its vaulted rooms.
