1. Walk Across Chapel Bridge
One of the sights that have become iconic and that have to be seen in Lucerne is Chapel Bridge. This was set by constructing a wooden footbridge in the 13th century that links the new part of town to the old one across the Reuss River.
It features a beautifully decorated roof, adorned with paintings from the 17th century, with triangular frames as scenes from the past. Right next to it, one finds the Grand Water Tower, a stone-building prison and a watchtower.
Walking through the bridge not only presents one with the view of the river but also medieval architecture, and the mountains surrounding it. Among Europe's oldest covered bridges, Chapel Bridge is a monument that speaks of culture while lending its beauty.
