It is a Country Rock band originating from Atlanta, Georgia. Its other elements are Country-pop, Southern Rock, and Reggae.

The ensemble has been active since 2002. They have released seven studio albums, 2 live albums, a compilation album, 19 music videos, 2 EPs, and 29 singles.

There are nine members in this group currently whereas former band members were four in number. It has earned 55 nominations and won 8 awards for outstanding contributions.

Their first studio album was Home Grown which was self released in 2005. The major labeled debut album was The Foundation released by Atlantic Records on November 18, 2008.

If you turn the history pages of this group, you will find that it all started when Zac was touring in 2002 with a heavy schedule. He formed a lineup with Marcus Petruska and Jacob Lawson in 2003 and created his own label known as Home Grown.

Tim Ussery also joined in 2003 and stayed till 2005. In 2004, Brown took Jimmy as violinist and vocalist. Then in 2005, Hopkins entered the group as bass guitarist and Joel Williams as guitarist.

In 2007, Coy Bowles performed with the band in Atlanta which kept him in the group for a few months. In 2008, Fryar joined as drummer and in 2009 Clay Cook joined as Hammond organ player.

Then a new member was welcomed in 2014 named Matt. Before him, Daniel became a permanent member in 2012. The latest joiner in this group is Caroline who teamed up in 2022.

Brown is the frontman and lead vocalist of the group. He has won multiple platinum, and Grammy Awards and other additional awards.

He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S. He is a blend of Country, Pop, EDM, Folk Rock, Southern Rock and Reggae genre.

He is also a songwriter, producer, and businessman. He has released four studio albums and two live albums. He is also into collaborations with top artists like Chris Cornell, Jimmy Buffett, Sheryl Crow, and others.

He has been serving children with autism, dyslexia, and other challenges through Camp Southern Ground. The camp is one of his biggest passions.

2. Jimmy De Martini

Jimmy started his musical interest at the age of 12. His first band was a rock or jam band named The Hill.

He then moved to Dave Mathews Cover Band and contributed his 4 years with DMCB. After that, he did some gigs for a few years.

Finally, in 2003 he joined the Zac group to contribute to fiddle, guitar, mandolin, and backing vocals. He feels blessed to be part of such an ensemble.

3. John Driskell Hopkins

John was born in San Antonio, Texas, and raised in Gainesville, GA. His first musical experience was in the church choir.

He was actively participating in programs during his high school and college days. He formed the band Brighter Shade and released albums.

He joined the group in 2005 as a backing and occasional lead vocalist. He believes the band has taught him so much about himself.

4. Coy Bowles

Coy began his guitar journey at the age of 11. He already had a band Betty Doom at age 13.

He is his own teacher as he taught himself how to play bass, drums, and guitar. He started his own band Coy Bowles and The Fellowship after graduation.

He joined the group in 2007 contributing as a guitarist, Hammond organ player, and pianist. He has also written children's books.

5. Chris Fryar

Chris's journey is a roller coaster as it is easy, difficult, and fun. He has played for a lot of bands before joining Zac's group.

He joined the ensemble in 2008 as a drummer and percussionist. He feels that performing with Zac and the team is the most fulfilling and challenging musical venture in his life.

He is fascinated by music, his wife, and his daughters. They give balance to his life and keep him grounded. They are his yin and yang.

6. Clay Cook

Before joining Zac Brown's band, Clay was engaged in The Marshall Tucker Band and Sugarland lineups. He had good skills in guitar and drums.

He learned a lot while touring with the Marshall Tucker group. He got the best platform to stretch out different instruments. He joined the group in 2009 to play guitar, slide guitar, Hammond organ, and piano.

7. Daniel de los Reyes

Daniel is from a family with a musical background. He has been playing drum set and percussion instruments.

He pursued his career as a professional drummer and percussionist after his live performance in 10th grade. His favorite hand drum is the tumbadoras or congas.

He joined the band in 2012 as a percussionist. He has been performing on tour, record, TV, movie, and many more in different programs.

8. Matt Mangano

Matt started his musical journey with saxophone and guitar. He learned lots of things during high school band.

He graduated in Music from Berklee and began playing in local bars. Firstly, he started playing occasionally with Zac then joined the group in 2014 as a bass guitarist and backing vocalist.

Caroline is the only lady in the group. She is a singer, and songwriter with the talent to play multiple instruments. She plays guitar, banjo, mandolin, dobro, piano, steel guitar, autoharp, and harmonica.

She first opened for Zac's band on a 2017 tour. She joined the group in 2022 and performed at Citi Field Fenway Park.

Who Is The Girl In Zac Brown Band?

Caroline Jones is the girl in the Zac Brown Band. She is a multi-instrumentalist born in New York City.

She started her musical journey when she was nine. Her first song was at age 10. She started country music when she visited Nashville.

Her debut studio album is Fallen Flower released on January 12, 2011. In addition, there are five other studio albums to date.

She had an Extended play named Chasin' Me. She gave a single track each year from 2017 to 2021.

She welcomed the band in Welcome Home Tour in 2017. Then she continued tours in 2018 and 2019. She started as an official member of this group in 2022.
