What Happened To Wendy And Lisa From The Revolution? Wendy and Lisa are still making music as a duo and have done so since 1986.

However, they are best known for being part of Prince and The Revolution. Led by Prince, the group was a musical ensemble based on and inspired by Sly Stone and his band, Sly and the Family Stone.

Though they may be known more for their work with Prince, Wendy, and Lisa have released five albums of their own, and even worked on Soundtracks for four projects.

Each of them has also worked as a session or touring musician for various artists, and since 2016, have reunited with The Revolution to do reunion shows and tours.

Wendy Melvoin, born Wendy Ann Melvoin, is a Guitarist and singer-songwriter. She was born on January 26, 1964, and is 59 years old.

The guitarist first met Prince in 1980, through Lisa, as Prince would stay at their house whenever he came to LA. Due to their closeness, Wendy would constantly be at Prince's shows.

He asked her to join the band after he heard her play the guitar when his previous guitarist, Dez Dickerson, didn't appear during a soundcheck. Soon after, she would become one of, if not the most popular, Revolution members after Prince.

Lisa Coleman was the pianist and Keyboardist for The Revolution. She was born on August 17, 1960, and is currently 62 years old.

Coleman too met Prince through a friend, Niki Yoergler, who was then working as Prince's manager, Steve Fargnoli's secretary. She got Coleman an audition to be a part of Prince's backing band, which would eventually become the Revolution.

Like Wendy, she would become prominent in the public eye as part of the Revolution and aside from Prince and Wendy, would become the most recognized member.

Why Did Prince And The Revolution Break Up? Prince broke up The Revolution due to disputes between the singer and his band mates.

Towards the mid-1980s, Prince started working with his new selections and even ignored The Revolution. It got to a point where Wendy and Lisa, and Brownmark, all threatened to quit.

However, Prince asked Bobby Z to convince them to stay. Sadly it all came to a head when, in October 1986 after the Parade Tour, Prince invited Wendy and Lisa to a dinner at his Beverly Hills home, and fired them.

The duo then went on their own path as their own musical act, a decision they didn't regret due to having been unhappy with a lack of credit and creativity.

A year after his passing, the band launched a tour of their own in his memory. Since 2018, they have been performing songs from their time with Prince live.

As for Wendy and Lisa, thankfully, they had reconciled with Prince back in 2004 and had even contributed to some of his albums.
