1. Join The Free-Fare Passenger Ride On A Ferry

The watercraft runs 24 hours, seven days a week, rain or shine. Each boat departs every 15 to 20 minutes during peak hours and every half an hour on regular days.

The passenger ferry was operated in 1817 and takes around half an hour to complete a 5.2-mile route. You don't need a ticket, just arrive at the St. George Ferry Terminian at 1 Bay Street and catch the next watercraft.

2. Hike To The Top Of The Moses Mountain

Staten Island attractions comprise the one and only man-made mountain, Moses Moutain. It was created around six decades earlier. 

Moses is located on the northwestern corner of the intersection of Manor Road and Rockland Avenue. In reality, it is a large heap of serpentine rock and soil that almost reaches a height of around 270 feet at best.

In 1963, when rock and soil were gouged to make way for the construction of the Expressway, the mountain came into being due to the incomplete execution. It was named after Robert F. Moses.

So, what do we expect at the top of the mountain? We will get a surrounding view, namely New Jersey to the west. While hiking to the top, Moses offers a panoramic woodland view with habitat for songbirds.

Hiker finds it the best location for eye-sighting birds of prey during hawk migrations. On the way, you will meet the former Richmond Parkway right-of-way as public parkland.

3. Plan A Day Trip To Conference House Park

For anyone asking why Staten Island, a one-day trip to Conference House Park can be the perfect answer. Over three hundred years old park stands in Tottenville.

The historical place is named after the famous meeting that took place on September 11, 1776, during the American Revolutionary War.

Now the meeting hall has been reformed into an exhibit containing the founding history of America and the house itself.

Outside the building is a visitor's center, playground, Swinnerton Park, paths, and visitor parking. The footpaths and pavilion overlook the Perth Amboy and waterside New Jersey towns across Raritan Bay.

Many community programs are hosted annually in the park, including the Independence Day celebration fireworks. Likewise, they recently hosted Broadway, spiritual, and jazz concerts, Black Voices, on July 15 at the Conference House Lawn.

The garden is part of the Staten Island Botanical Garden. It is one of only two authentic classical outdoor Chinese gardens in the United States.

A team of 40 Chinese artists and craftsmen spent around a year building the garden during the late 1990s. They designed a narrow passage prior to the main garden, where visitors can try meditation.

Rain or shine, the garden is open seven days a week from 12:00 Pm onwards till 7:00 PM. Local residents of Staten Island can admit free of cost each first Friday, while tourists need to pay $5.

Chinese Scholars Garden is a perfect host of multi-cultural events, featuring magnificent rockery. Tourists will witness eight pavilions, a bamboo forest path, Chinses Calligraphy, waterfalls, and a Koi-filled pond inside.

6. Catch Live Performance Of Gules At St. George Theatre

Staten Island events designed for music lovers is the upcoming live performance of Gules in August. Gules is a songwriter and a fabulous lyrically fluid singer.

The home to the picture palace, office complex, and performing art venue conveniently stands at 35 Hyatt Street. It has a seating capacity of 1903 people at a time.
