Who Were The Original Band Members Of The Byrds? The original Byrds were Roger McGuinn, Gene Clark, David Crosby, Chris Hillman, and Michael Clark.

The Byrds were an American rock band based in Los Angeles, California. They are widely considered the most influential rock band of their era.

Though the group started out as a folk rock band, they eventually became so much more. Their chief claim to fame was a blending of harmony singing with frontman McGuinn's jangly lead guitar.

The first and most prominent iteration of the group lasted from 1964 to 1973. Since then, they have been active for two instances, first for a couple of years from 1989 to 1991 and lastly, a one-off performance on August 8, 2000.
