Kayak from the mighty Hoover Dam all year! Evolution Expeditions secures the permit which provides a fish-eye view of the Hoover Dam from its base. The adventure starts with a descent down the original road carved into the canyon walls to create this massive construction project of the 1930s. Kayak from the base of the Hoover Dam, down the Colorado River, and through the Black Canyon. Steam inside the sauna cave and soak in geothermal hot spring pools hidden within slot-canyons. Watch for desert bighorn sheep, coyote, falcons, bald eagles, and different types of migratory waterfowl while enjoying the beauty of Black Canyon. Beginners willing to embrace the challenge and experienced kayakers need to have the physical fitness to maintain an ACTIVE PADDLE through 12 miles of flat water with minimal current. Our professional guides are knowledgeable in the history of the Black Canyon and the construction of the Hoover Dam. Lunch, snacks, water are included. Guests must be at the morning meetup place, the Hoover Dam Lodge, paddle craft area, which is the lower north parking lot, 40 mins prior to the tour start time to get checked in by security. All adult guests must have a valid ID.
