Stevie Nicks Backup Singers: Sharon Celani and Lori Nicks

Stevie Nicks backup singers Sharon Celani and Lori Nicks have been with her throughout her journey. The singer has often talked about their importance to her music.

Sharon Celani

Sharon Celani is a Stevie Nicks's longtime friend. Celani is 66 years old and was born on June 1956.

Celani was born and raised in San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles and already had developed a taste in music when she was five years old. A young prodigy, the future singer learned to sing by accompanying any piece of music she heard at home.

The singer's talent led to her excelling in musical output while in school be they in concerts or plays. To no one's surprise, Celani was already singing professionally at age 12. 

Celani would meet Stevie in 1978 and thus would start on friendship that is going strong to this day, and the singer has been singing backup for Stevie since her debut album. 

Lori Nicks

Lori Nicks is Stevie Nicks's sister-in-law. Lori is married to Stevie's brother, Christopher Nicks.

Born on September 14, 1951, Lori is now 71 years old, and like her fellow backup singer has been singing since childhood. However, Lori started a bit late as her first forays into singing were in Junior High.

Though she wanted to pursue music professionally while still in high school, her mother's ill health stopped her. Still, music would be present in her life first through marrying her first husband Gordon Perry who eventually introduced her to a still teen Stevie.

Lori and Stevie hit it off and kept in touch, and finally, like Celani, provided backup vocals for Stevie during the beginning of her solo career and has done so since.

Stevie Nicks band members are Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Mike Campbell, and Niel Finn. Together they make up the current incarnation of Fleetwood Mac.

The members and their roles are:

• Stevie Nicks - Vocals (1975 - 1991, 1997 - present)
• Mick Fleetwood - drums (1967 - 1995, 1997 - present)
• John McVie - bass (1967 - 1995, 1997 - present)
• Mike Campbell - lead guitar (2018 - present)
• Neil Finn - rhythm guitar and keyboards (2018 - present)

Among the current members, Mick and John are the only ones who have been in the band since the beginning, with the band technically being named after Mick. Mike and Neil are also the only members who have not been in the band during what is known as the classic lineup.

Fleetwood Mac is notorious for having made many members. Across the six decades of their existence, there have been 18 official members of the band.

Stevie Nicks songwriting partner was Lindsey Buckingham. The two were also in Fleetwood Mac and even dated.

Buckingham, who is 73 years old and was born on October 3, 1949, started a relationship with her when the two were still in high school. Their relationship would last from 1969 and 1976, and together, despite the end of their relationship, the two would have a songwriting partnership to rival Lennon and McCartney.

The couple would initially try to strike up a career as a duo with the release of their debut album, Buckingham Nicks which fared poorly. Their fortunes would change when Buckingham was asked to join Fleetwood Mac, and he accepted only under the condition that Stevie be accepted too.

The time that Buckingham and Stevie were in the band together, a period lasting from 1975 to 1987, would be the most fruitful and popular period in the band's history. Together the two would write some of the band's most popular songs, and three of their most popular albums:

• Fleetwood Mac (1975)
• Rumours (1977)
• Tusk (1979)
