Who Is Logic The Rapper?
Logic The Rapper is a Conscious HipHop artist best known for his 2017 hit song, 1-800-273-8255. He is seen by many as one of the best rappers of his generation.
This conscious rap saved many lives and motivated furthermore not to choose a way to end life for inconveniences in life. A creator of such a powerful song, Logic's reputation is quite different from the majority of hip-hop artists out there.
Born on January 22, 1990, in Rockville, Maryland, Logic's story of a poor man growing up in such a rich state is inspiring. He overcame the negative influences while growing up and chose the way of music to turn his life a whole 360 degrees.
Starting with releasing mixtapes, he has influences from the rap group Wu-Tang Clan and Hollywood movies. As of 2023, LO0gic is a 33-year-old rapper and a father of one.
But most of the time, he is a conscious hip-hop artist, making his way into the crowd as someone who's about to give you a rap on being a good human.
What Does He Rap About?
As mentioned above, Logic mainly raps about his life story and experiences. But the material involved in them is what makes him a unique one to others.
Logic is the new sensation in the rap industry with his idea of rapping on social problems, self-improvement, and creativity of rhyming words no matter the situation he is presenting.
He has confirmed that the musical aspects of his works are not limited to just listening for fun. Each of his words has depth in them to adhere to the needs of people who nitpick in the lyrics.
Besides his heavy lyrics and choice of words in the songs, there have been regular references to the Hollywood movies he likes. For example, In Young Jesus, there is a key line:
"The Return of the Jedi"
Bet I do the show and catch a red eye
which hints at his fascination with the Star Wars saga. The line compares the red eyes a Jedi gets when he uses the Force after joining the dark side to the red eyes he gets after doing shows and traveling late.
Hence, he gets little time to sleep but has to continue his musical journey. Not only this song but there have been numerous references to Star Wars in his other songs, such as Rapman and Young Jedi.
But his movie preferences for his songs are again not bound to this sci-fi movie series, he has named several other action movies, making pop cultural references.
Is Logic Christian?
Logic was raised as a strict Catholic Christian due to his mother's influence. However, as an adult, his religious belief remains ambiguous.
As confirmed above, the Everybody singer-rapper has refrained from pointing out the exact religion that he follows. However, that does not mean he does not believe in God.
His musical works often times mentioned God and their teachings. Moreover, he made news in 2018 as he went on a musical Christmas tour with fellow rapper NG, a certified Christian rapper.
While his childhood story and the 2018 stint may hint that he may be a Christian, the exact truth remains to himself.
Meanwhile, one of the songs, Dead Presidents III, from his 2012 mixtape Young Sinatra: Undeniable, includes the key lyrics:
I left home at 17
Shortly after my mama got stabbed by f**king around in the streets
But she still breathin' which gives me a reason to believe in a higher power instead of grieving
indicates that he believes in a higher entity, probably God, but does not clarify which god. Hence, Logic is a smart man, keeping his beliefs to himself to avoid being influenced or disturbed by outsiders.
But it is now confirmed that Logic is an aware man who has a faith but also considers his privacy.
