90s girl groups can not be complete without mentioning Spice Girls. Emma Bunton, Mel B, Mel C, Geri Halliwell, and Victoria Beckham are the members.

The formation of the pop icons of the 90s happened in 1994 after a series of auditions and selections. They are also one of the highest-grossing female artists of all time.

Spice Girls first single titled Wannabe was an instant hit as it soared high and became the No. 1 in not only 1 but 37 countries.

Crystal Jones formed the group with the help of Ian Burke in 1991, and actively served as a member but later she was replaced by Rozonda.

Destiny’s Child which came into existence in 1990. Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams were the final members.

They followed the R&B and pop genres in their music. They were a huge success in the 90s, thanks to their best-selling record The Writing's on the Wall.

In total, they launched 5 studio albums along with 23 singles and 5 compilation albums. After their final album titled Destiny Fulfilled was dropped in 2004, they went on a tour and revealed their plan to disband in 2005.

All girl rock bands comprise Babes In Toyland originated in 1987 in Minneapolis, Minnesota with Kat Bjelland, Lori Barbero, and Michelle Leono.

While Kat was the lead vocal and guitarist, Lori played drum and Michelle was a bassist. Their musical styles included alternative rock, punk rock, grunge, and post-punk.

Their discography consists of 3 albums: Spanking Machine was dropped in 1990 as their debut record. Then, Fontanelle and Nemesisters were released.

5. The Breeders

90s punk bands contain The Breeders originated from Dayton, Oho in 1989. The band members were Kim Deal, Kelley Deal, Josephine Wiggs, and Jim Macpherson.

Kim and Kelly are the twin sisters who lead in vocals and guitar respectively. The musical ensemble formed in 1989 had several ups and downs.

They disbanded in 1995, but came back together in 1996 and again called it quits only to patch up in 2008.

Currently, they are busy bracing themselves for The Breeders tour slated to kick off on August 3 from Boise, Idaho.

Cheryl Gamble, Tamara Johnson, and Leanne Lyons are the sisters who made SWV one of the best-selling girl groups in history.

SWV was nominated for Grammy, the most significant music award in three categories, Best New Artist, Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group, and Best Traditional R&B Performance.

The Chicks is a 90s girl rock band that has been releasing country, bluegrass, and country pop music since 1989. The girls rose to prominence in 1998 and 1999.

The current lineup of the musical ensemble includes Emily Strayer, Martie Maguire, and Natalie Maines. As of now, Natalie is 48 years old.

Similarly, Emily is 50 and Martie is 53. In their more than 3 decades-long journey in music, they have given hits like Long Time Gone, Wide Open Spaces, and You Were Mine.

Lena and Julia broke up in 2011 but came reunited again in 2022. On their official Instagram handle, they have described themselves as the most successful legendary 2000s Russian duo of all time.

Swedish girl ensemble named Play came around in 2005 as a pop group with a lineup including Faye Hamlin, Anna Sundstrand, Anaïs Lameche, and Rosie Munter.

For 5 years it released music continuously. Then, Play broke up and again served as a team from 2009 to 2011.

Their single titled Us Against the World garnered huge success and secured a place on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Sales chart for 65 weeks straight.

2000s rock bands consist of Haim hailing from San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles. It is a family band composed of 3 sisters Este, Danielle, and Alana.

Danielle was the lead vocalist, and her other two sisters Este and Alana were more invested in musical instruments.

They started in 2007 as a rock band and have not stopped since. In this time period, they gifted fans with numbers like The Steps, Summer Girl, Forever, and Falling among others.

Girls’ Generation is a K-Pop group formed under SM Entertainment back in 2007. There were 9 members at the time of its formation.

In the present time, Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun works as an active part of the band.

Before people even heard of today's top K-Pop bands like BTS and BlackPink, the Girls’ Generation was finding success internationally. Their contribution to bringing the K-Pop to international stage can not be forgotten.

Girls Aloud is an English group who contributed to popularizing the electropop, dance-rock musical style. They had 4 number-one singles in the UK Chart.

The Cheetah Girls is an American group created by Disney in 2003 with 3 main members Adrienne Bailon, Kiely Williams, and Sabrina Bryan.

They lasted until 2008. In their 5 year tenure, The Cheetah Girls dropped 3 Studio albums as well as other collections.

They were mostly known for the soundtrack of films with their name such as The Cheetah Girls, The Cheetah Girls 2, and The Cheetah Girls: One World.

No Secrets group had a short-lived career in the industry. It was composed of Angel Faith, Jessica Fried, Carly Lewis, Jade Ryusaki, and Erin Tanner.

The quintet was established by the father of Carly Lewis, who was a producer. They released tracks like Kids in America, and I'll Remember You among others.

Despite having a thriving career ahead of them, the 5 girls could not continue due to several disagreements and differences of opinion.
