This event is celebrated with so much fervor every year to shed light on the unimaginable plight of farmers who are struggling to make ends meet.

First Farm Aid came about as a way to address the difficult circumstances of American farmers 38 years ago.

The main motive was to help family farmers in continuing producing fresh veggies, and food. The fading family farming business was brought back to life by the festival.

Many reforms in the agricultural sector came about after the inception of this benefit concert. The Agricultural Credit Act of 1987 is one of the major changes brought about by it.

Protecting the rights of farmers meant ensuring healthy food and the safety of natural resources. Besides providing assistance to farmers, the event is proving to be an asset for the environment as well.

Willie Nelson believes that farmers from across the globe are the answer to the biggest challenge faced by mankind. So, for him, Farm Aid is a means to strengthen farmers and celebrate them.

All in all, Farm Aid is a nonprofit organization working to create a dynamic system of family farms.

Farm Aid is taking place at Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana this year. The event is scheduled for September 23.

Indiana was the venue for the concert in 2001 and 1990. After more than two decades, the fundraising concert is making a comeback to this state.

More than 80 % of Indiana's land is occupied by agricultural work. So, it is a big deal for Indiana State to be able to host this philanthropic event.

John Mellencamp, one of the co-founders commented that he is elated to bring back the event in his hometown. The festival is all set to salute the hardworking farmers of Indiana and the whole of America.

In the meantime, the key objective of this year's concert is to elucidate the measures applied by family farmers as a response to the burning climate change problem.
