A$AP Rocky

Named after Rakim, the legendary rapper, A$AP Rocky chose his stage name after joining the mob in 2007.

As everyone had A$AP in their name, Rakim joined in with his nickname to start off his career. His first hit came in 2011 after his single, Purple Swag, became the street anthem of New York City.

Since then, he has become the prominent face of his mob, contrary to the group founders, A$AP Bari and A$AP Illz. A$AP Rocky now has taken over the world for being the baby daddy of two kids of Rihanna, one of the best selling artists of all time.

They have been dating since 2020. Fellow member and rapper A$AP Nast is his cousin.

A$AP Ferg

A$AP Ferg was initially an art enthusiast turned into a clothing owner. He discovered trap music and rapping, impressing his high school friend, A$AP Rocky.

Carti followed Rocky to Texas and started a new phase of his music career. He then toured with ASAP Ferg and struck a deal with Interscope Records.

He found significant success by appearing on ASAP Mob's single "Telephone Calls" and signed with AWGE imprint. Carti went on to appear on the group's second album, making him a member of the mob's extended groups in the industry.

Founder ASAP Yams passed away at the age of 26 on January 18, 2015, due to disputed reasons. Another member, Snacks, bid farewell to the world on February 2, 2020.

The same year, Chynna's demise was ruled as an accidental drug overdose at 25 in April. A$AP Josh's passing away on October 16, 2021, was another huge blow to the group.

ASAP in ASAP Mob means Always Strive and Prosper. A$AP Ferg's second album was named after their group's name.

In his interview with Complex, A$AP Bari revealed that he, Yams, and other founders were at Wendy's in SoHo. After the initial rejection of naming their group PIF (Paid IN Full) Unit, they decided on A$AP on the spot.
