Pink Floyd was an English rock band prominently known as one of the first British psychedelic groups. They rose to fame with their philosophical lyrics and experimenting with innovative sounds.

Following Syd's departure in April 1968, Roger took on the role of the band's primary lyricist and leader.

He departed from the band in 1985. However, for his enormous contribution to the rock community, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996, followed by the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005.

Nick Mason

Nicholas Berkley Mason served as the drummer. He is the only member to appear on all of the band's studio albums.

Nick is credited for composing many of Pink Floyd's hits including "Echoes", "Careful with That Axe", "One of These Days" and more. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.

In 2018, he formed a rock band, Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets to perform the group's early music.

Rick Wright

Richard William Wright, also known as Rick Wright played the keyboard. He also sang occasionally.

Following Syd's departure, Rick also took on the responsibility of songwriting alongside Waters.

Wright's jazz influence and his unique keyboard were vital factors in Pink Floyd's triumph, not to mention his role as lead vocals on songs like "Remember a Day"," Time" and "Wearing the Inside Out".

David Jon Gilmour is the lead singer of Pink Floyd. He is also the lead guitarist.

Gilmour was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 with the rest of the band.

However, he also worked on solo projects, releasing his self-titled debut album, David Gilmour, in 1978 followed by three more albums.

Barrett was born on January 6, 1946, in Cambridge, England. He died at his home on July 7, 2006, aged 60, after battling pancreatic cancer.

Two years later after his passing, Wright passed away at the age of 65. He was born on July 28, 1943, in Hatch End, Middlesex to Bridie and Cedric Wright.

Another concept album, it tells the story of Pink, a rock star who is building a figurative wall around himself following a tragedy. Written by Roger, it is one of his most personal albums and greatest individual triumph.

The album is Pink Floyd's most successful Billboard charting creation. Making its first Billboard 200 appearance on 15 December 1979, it topped the chart for 15 consecutive weeks.

Recoding over 30 million sales globally, it is the band's second-best-selling album worldwide and has been awarded 23x Diamond certification by the RIAA.

Another Brick in the Wall, Pt.2 is the first single and fifth track taken from the band's 11th album The Wall

Released on November 23, 1979, as a three-part composition, the second part gained the most mainstream attention.

The theme depicts the protagonist's childhood trauma which became a brick in the wall. It was deemed as a protest song to oppose the strict schooling policies.

Wish You Were Here

Wish You Were Here is the title track from the band's 1975 album. It was written by Gilmour and Waters.

Comfortably Numb is the third single from the progressive rock band's hit album, The Wall, released on June 23, 1980.
