Penned by David Frank, Steve Kipner, and Pamela Sheyne, many see this as Aguilera's first official single since her previous one, Reflection, was written for the Disney animated movie Mulan.
The immediate success of the single, it topped the charts of 21 countries, made the young singer a superstar right out of the gate. The song has since become certified Double Platinum by the RIAA, selling more than 2 million in the US alone.
The sensual, teasing song is still seen as one of Aguilera's standout tracks and is her fifth most famous track according to Spotify. It has racked up over 301 million plays on the app.

This platinum-certified record has its detractors who claim it is very similar to the previous single, but many fans and critics alike have called it a powerhouse performance that beautifully showcases Aguilera's singing talents.
A year later, the singer would release a Spanish language version of the song on her sophomore album Mi Relejo in 2000.
3. I Turn To You
|March 28, 2000
One of the best of Christina Aguilera songs is I Turn To You. It is a cover of an All-4-One song and Aguilera's fourth overall single.
Penned by Diane Warren and produced by Guy Roche, the single was turned from an upbeat number in its original version to a ballad for the songstress. Riding high off the success of her previous two #1 singles, it peaked at #3 on the Hot 100.
As with the previous single, fans and critics had nothing but words of wonder and amazement at Aguilera's voice and some found the sparse arrangement a great choice to let her voice shine. However, many among the latter criticized the backing music for being a bit too formulaic.
This reception would go on to become something of a characteristic in Aguilera's career: Her voice would see nothing but complements but everything around it would fall prey to criticism.
4. Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You)
|July 11, 2000
Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You) is one of the best Christina Aguilera Love Songs. It is the fourth and final single off her debut self-titled album.
It is also the third single from the album to reach the top of the Hot 100. It has a whopping 10 songwriters including Aguilera herself, and two producers.
As with the other singles, the song was not only a success in the US but also the world over as it topped the Venezuela charts as well as reached within the top 10 of many countries like Australia and the UK.
The song is as memorable for its video as it is for the music as it sees Aguilera experiment with her image, which is something she would do a lot more in the future. As of 2023, the video has over 51 million views on YouTube.
5. Lady Marmalade
|April 10, 2001
Lady Marmalade is one of the top Christina Aguilera songs. The YouTube video for the track has over 506 million views.
It is the songstress's fourth number 1 hit and is a medley track featuring Lil' Kim, Mya, and P!NK. The four performed this song for the soundtrack of the movie Moulin Rouge.
Since it is a soundtrack song, it is a non-album single but has been hailed as one of the best posse cuts, that too all female, from the early 2000s. Written by Bob Crewe and Kenny Nolan, the production duties were overseen by the famous rapper and soon-to-be Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Missy Elliott and Rockwilder.
Given how many views the music video has, it's easy to imagine that it is an opulent affair that showcases each of the four women scantily clad and showing off their beauty.
|November 16, 2002
Beautiful is top among Christina Aguilera all songs for its self-affirming message. It was a collaboration with Linda Perry who wrote and produced it.
This double-platinum-certified track deserves the beautiful reputation it has since garnered for being not only a great self-love track but for being an anthem for the LGBT community. Aguilera has long since been an icon within the community and this song is the reason why.
As for its accolades, the track peaked at #2 on the Hot 100 and even won a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 2004 ceremony as well as get nominated for Song of The Year.
Despite not topping the charts in the US, it topped the charts in other countries like Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK. It has also reached platinum status in all those countries.
7. Ain't No Other Man
|June 6, 2006
Ain't No Other Man was the Christina Aguilera new song she needed in 2006. It helped revive her career following a bit of a slump.
Written by Christina Aguilera alongside four other writers and produced by the singer alongside the indelible DJ Premier and Charles Matin Roane, the track showcased the greatest weapon the singer has always had in her arsenal, her powerful voice.
With an energetic backing track reminiscent of the 1930s and 40s Big Band and Swing era arrangements, it took Aguilera right up to #6 on the Hot 100. The song won her another Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance two years after she had won her last one.
As with many of her successful singles, this track has also been certified double platinum by the RIAA.
8. Keeps Gettin' Better
|September 22, 2008
Keeps Gettin' Better by Christina Aguilera is the last Top 10 track that features her as the lead artist. It is a single from her first Greatest Hits collection.
Written by Aguilera herself alongside Linda Perry and also produced by the latter, it reached #7 on the Hot 100 and made it onto the Top 10 of many different countries too, like Turkey and Canada, and made it onto the Top 20 of a handful of other countries as well.
Despite its commercial success, it was not received too favorably by the critics and spelled the end of Aguilera's critical favor which her last album Back to Basics had afforded here. From here on out, Aguilera would start seeing a dwindling amount of success both on the charts and amongst critics too.
9. Moves Like Jagger
|June 21, 2011
Moves Like Jagger is a song by the Pop Rock band Maroon 5 which features Christina Aguilera. It is the last #1 hit she has had so far in her career.
Written and released as something of a tribute to the Rolling Stones lead singer and frontman Mick Jagger, it is a single from Maroon 5's third studio album Hands All Over. It features boisterous and dancy verses from Adam Levine, then a truly show-stopping bridge from Aguilera herself.
In the final verses of the song, Aguilera joins Adam Levine, the lead singer of Maroon 5, and the two match their voices perfectly to create a wonderful coda. Many had thought Aguilera's hit making career and ability was over when this song came out, but the songstress gladly proved them all wrong.
10. Feel This Moment
|February 22, 2013
Feel This Moment is a song by Pitbull featuring Christina Aguilera. It is her penultimate single to not only reach the Top 10 but enter the Hot 100.
As the title suggests, it is a feel-good song that emphasizes living life in the moment. The verses are driven by Pitbull's fast, joyous, and energetic delivery.
However, what makes the song especially successful is Aguilera's powerful delivery in the chorus which was and remains one of the most celebrated and memorable moments of the song.
Following this track's release, Aguilera would see her last appearance on the Hot 100 on the pop duo A Great Big World's single Say Something. The track would peak at #4.
Since then, though she has released 15 singles, none of them have charted in the Hot 100 at all.
